Before you start
Most failed transfers come down to one of these. Tick them off as you go; the checklist is only saved on this page.
Keep your nameservers as they are
A transfer changes who manages the domain, not where it points. Leave the current DNS in place until the move completes, then change it if you want to.
How the transfer runs
Order the transfer
Enter the domain above, add the auth code at checkout and pay the transfer fee.
Approve it
Confirm the request from the email sent to the domain's contact. Your old registrar may also ask you to approve.
Wait for the registry
Generic domains usually complete within five to seven days. African ccTLDs follow each registry's own process.
Manage it here
The domain appears in your client area with DNS, renewals and transfer lock under your control.
Transfer prices
For most generic domains the transfer fee also renews the name for a year, so the remaining time on it carries over plus twelve months.
Global store prices in TZS. Country stores show transfer prices in local currency.

Moving an African country domain?
National registries each set their own transfer process. Here's what to expect.
Registry rules apply
Some ccTLDs use auth codes like .com; others need the losing registrar or the registry to release the domain. We guide you through the right route.
Time doesn't always carry over
Unlike most generic domains, some ccTLD transfers don't add a year. Check the price at checkout, where the term is shown.
Domain transfer questions
Will my website or email go offline?
No, as long as you keep the same nameservers during the transfer. The domain keeps pointing to the same place while the registrar changes.
How long does a transfer take?
Most generic domains complete within five to seven days, and sooner if your current registrar approves early. African ccTLDs vary by registry.
Do I lose the time left on my registration?
Not for most generic domains. The remaining time carries over and the transfer adds one year. Some country domains work differently; checkout shows the term.
Why can't I transfer a domain I registered recently?
Registry rules for generic domains block transfers for 60 days after registration or a previous transfer. The same lock can apply after certain contact changes.
My current registrar won't give me the auth code. What now?
For generic domains, registrars must provide the code to the registrant on request. If they don't respond, contact us with the domain name and we'll advise on next steps.
Can I transfer several domains at once?
Yes. Add each domain to the cart with its auth code. If you're moving a large portfolio, WhatsApp us and we'll help plan it.
Ready to move?
Unlock the domain, copy the auth code and start the transfer.
